Forgiveness/Forgiving can be a tough thing to do. And we have all been down that road.
Yes, it should be easy..but the reality is that "most of us" struggle with it.
You're probably different than "most of us" though.
This song by Tenth Avenue North (TAN) sums it up. When we forgive...many times it feels like we are losing... May not be that way for you. Check out the interview of the lead singer HERE. His discussion of this particular song is about at the 6 minute mark..
CHORUS:
Oh, Father won't You forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin' (oh no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'
HE forgives me...
So, who am I...that I wouldn't forgive someone too?
On a side note, I was fortunate to see TAN at last years YEC2012 conference in August. Probably one of the best bands I've seen live in many years. Great speaker in Derwin Gray too.
So...Who do you need to forgive?
Or get right with? Let's get 'er done!
Check out Matthew 18:21-35...

Practice what we preach..

I really was surprised to hear Rep. Anthony Weiner's Twitter picture caper was perpetrated by HIM.. Over many years.. Yes, very stupid indeed.
However, he confessed (yesterday) to sending those less than appropriate pictures to those young women. Hooray that he came clean and is dealing with it! (FBI was hot on his trail too)
But as far as his family and constituency, not so much.
Interestingly, at church we've been studying forgiveness. Nothing like getting to practice what we preach..
So, can you (will you) forgive this man, this father, this husband, this leader of our country?
In the meantime.. I'll be praying for his family, the man himself and my country.
