Running into WEEK 7!! YES!!

Put that week in the bank baby!!  Week 6 is done!  Mileage was up to 11 miles last week and this week it jumps to about 15.. It's also getting warmer outside so we shall see how the body handles it.  Fortunately, I'm running at about 5:45 in the morning most days so it's at least a little cooler.

I did get to check out a few garage sales on the run Saturday.. always a fun treat but sure hard to jog around with a lampshade I got for a good deal..  I'll try that over the next few weeks.. So, keep watching. :)  

The great news is that (at least for now) the shin splints have about gone and that my friends is good news for now!

Oh..and I'm thinking about doing the KC Half Marathon on Oct 20th?  Might just be doable...


It also happens to be Father's Day - TODAY (as I am typing)! Very thankful to be a father of two incredible girls and two of the important reasons I want to stay fit at some level. I'd like to hang out with those two for a long time!

My Garage Sale Adventures - NO FRIDAYS!

Now I am a pretty easy going guy most of the time.. But last weekend (10/14/2010) I just plain got "smoked"

But lately I have started becoming more and more frustrated about missing out on good deals at garage sales on Saturday morning!  NOT because I show up late.. but because they are starting on Friday.

Whose idea was this?

Time after time (recently it seems) I pull up at a garage sale on a given Saturday morning... the driveway is less cluttered, garage half empty, etc.  The garage sale host/hostess just says, "Man, you should have seen it yesterday (Friday) it was crazy".. It's just not right.. there ought to be a law!




Might be time to start an initiative petition or pass a new city ordinance..  AND just FYI - I have high ranking city officials as neighbors.. and my kids make mean chocolate chip cookies.. : )

My Garage Sale Adventures

Always wanted to see if I could pull it off.  I enjoy going to garage sales on Saturday mornings and it would be fun to add a little twist..  Talk about my deals with you..  Certainly though, the season is winding down as we are in mid-October.  We shall see what is served up next week..
