My mileage this week amounted to 7 miles. The runs mostly involved jogging a 1/4 mile then walking 1/4 mile. Seems easy enough - but with the occasional shin splint in my right leg it was more difficult than I expected it to be. I am told (among other things) that this is directly related to "extra" weight as I pound the pavement running down the road! Maybe you can likely shed a little light on the subject..
I am hopeful the shin splint disappears as I progress with this training plan. In the meantime, I'll stretch it a little and keep the ice nearby if necessary.
Overall, the week was great and we've enjoyed cool weather!
