On a recent trip to New Orleans we had the chance to visit a few plantations.
Our selections were the Oak Alley Plantation and the San Francisco. Both were about 45 minutes or so back west of New Orleans. Very cool places, distinctly different and worth the entry price.
In both cases our admission was approximately $50 (x2) with our AAA discount.
Here are just a few pics of both.
Oak Alley... those are 300 yr old Live Oaks. Incredible trees.
San Francisco...very utilitarian and practical architecture.
...from an undisclosed location..
